News: Okorocha Sacks Cabinet

Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has dissolved the state executive council, putting to rest weeks of speculation over the dissolution.

Feelers from Douglas House, venue of the state executive council meeting, said the governor shocked the commissioners and other political appointees with the announcement of the dissolution midway into the executive council meeting.

ABBspot gathered that the governor sacked all political appointees, including commissioners, special advisers and personal assistants.

A member of the dissolved executive council, who pleaded anonymity, said they were taken unawares by the development.

Meanwhile, intense lobbying for reappointment by some members of the dissolved executive council has commenced.

The office of the deputy governor, Prince Eze Madumere was on Wednesday inundated by lobbyists..
