Lady Gaga is out of this world as she performs two new tracks on The X Factor

Out of this world: Gaga performs the opening strains of promotional track Venus

It was always going to be an outlandish affair, but even by her own attention grabbing standards Lady GaGa’s much anticipated performance on The X Factor proved to be surprisingly subdued.

The singer is currently preparing for the release of third album ARTPOP, and her appearance at the Fountain Studios in Wembley on Sunday evening was just the latest in a furious and frequently bizarre promotional campaign ahead of its release on November 8.

Following an extroverted piece of performance art in Berlin on Friday, Gaga was on the X Factor stage wearing a blonde wig and dressed in flesh coloured lingerie while she strummed the opening chords of promotional single Venus on an acoustic guitar.
