We’re Ready For Boko Haram In South West – OPC

Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) weekend warned the Boko Haram sect not to spread its dastardly operation to the South West of the country if it does not want to meet its Waterloo.

The congress in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo by its Osun State coordinator, Mr Oyeyinka Awoyemi and secretary, Mr Waheed Olaniyan, vowed to resist the inhuman and ungodly act of the sect from any quarters and affirmed to match the sect strength for strength if it tries to extend its tentacle to the zone.

The statement appealed to the sect to sheath their sword and turn a new leaf because Islam they professed to be defending is a religion of peace.

OPC however reminded the sect that they do not have monopoly of violence adding that they would not tolerate acts that would result in killing, maiming and destruction of lives and properties in its territory.

The organisation however expressed its readiness to collaborate with the police to fight the terrorists to a standstill in the country.

They however charged the people in the region to be vigilant and report any strange movement in their environment to the police so as to make the society a crime free one.
