Nasarawa Was Created For A Purpose - Al-Mustapha

Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, former security aide to the late head of state, Gen. Sani Abacha, on Friday, disclosed that the administration he served created Nasarawa State to honour the  yearning of the people for development.

He said he was impressed that 17 years on, Governor Al-Makura was driving governance in a manner that actualised the dream that propelled the struggle for the creation of the 5th generation state.

The most celebrated Nigerian army officer of the moment said Al-Makura's political philosophy to make the common man feel like they were the governors, "Is the major reason that gave birth to the state in 1996 by General Abacha."

Al-Mustapha was in Lafia with his wife and Lateef Shofolahan, as well as Mohammed Abacha, son of the former military leader, to thank the people of the state for their prayers and activism for his release from incarceration.

Governor Al-Makura, who received the guest alongside some members of his cabinet including the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hajiya Zainab Abdulmumin, Engr. Wada Mohammed Yahaya, Barrister Abdullahi Mohammed and Dr. Abdullahi Idris, and Gen. Asotan Umar (rtd), said Nasarawa people owed it to the Abacha administration, and would ever remain appreciative.
