Fuludu sets Eagles target

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Edema Fuludu has tasked Coach Stephen Keshi to surpass Nigeria’s best finish at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Speaking to Sports Vanguard during the funeral of former Super Eagles midfielder. Thompson Oliha in Benin City, Fuludu, while insisting that the Eagles were going to qualify for the World Cup, mandated Keshis to ensure that the team go beyond the second round stage, which is the best the Eagles had recorded since they first qualified for the1994 finals in USA.

“I am very sure that the Super Eagles will qualify for the next World Cup. Malawi are good but we have more in terms of players’ quality and technical competence to overrun them. They cannot stop us and I also believe that the opponents which we will face in the final round won’t stop us from reaching Brazil 2014.

“As African champions, we should seek to surpass our best record at the FIFA World Cup finals. I expect Keshi to start plotting how the Eagles would become the best team from Africa in Brazil. Keshi is a competent manager, who is capable of adding another record to his growing and glowing credentials.

“It is not enough for us to qualify for Brazil. What is crucial is that we make history and I feel confident that we have what it takes to make it happen in Brazil. Above all, Keshi should work harder on all the lapses that we saw at the Confederations Cup”, added Fuludu.
