Expert cautions against body piercing
A General Practitioner, Dr Patrick Okolie, has said that body piercing can predispose one to infectious diseases.
Okolie told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja that unsterilised needles and instruments used could cause HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C, among others.
According to him, it is very easy to transfer diseases to one another through that process.
He added that the practise was being canvassed against in developed countries.
He said that there was the need to discourage the trend because of the high prevalence of communicable diseases.
