Forbes releases World's Most Powerful list, puts Putin ahead of Obama

 

Forbes just released its World's Most Powerful People list and put Russian president Vladamir Putin ahead of US president Barack Obama. That's wack! They also said Dangote is more powerful than President Goodluck Jonathan. Dangote was placed 64th most powerful person in the world, Jonathan didn't make the list.

A builder who loved a joke was given a fitting send off – with a pair of work boots sticking out of his coffin.

Avid Stockport County supporter Jason Calvert, 40, suffered a fatal brain haemorrhage earlier this month. He had no life insurance so his family were about to take a loan out to pay for his funeral.

But fellow County fans, Jason’s work colleagues and friends raised £3,500 in just two weeks to pay for the service.

His sister Joan McNulty, 48, said: “Words cannot express how grateful I am that people would do this in a time of austerity, it brings back your faith in humanity.

Little Baby Girl Is Forced To Live Inside Parents' Car Boot For Almost 2 Years

 

In a case that has appalled France and investigators say “defies the imagination”, a baby girl was forced to live hidden in the boot of her parents' car for almost two years!

The tiny baby was found naked and feverish by mechanics who were carrying out repairs on the family's Peugeot 307 car.

The mechanics were alerted to the child’s presence after hearing “strange noises that sounded like moans” coming from the rear of the vehicle.

Nigerian man jailed in the UK for raping a woman in her own home

 

A Nigerian night club bouncer has been jailed for seven years in the UK for raping a woman in her own home. Idreez Popoola (pictured above), who twice dodged deportation, brutally attacked his victim on 29th December 2012, eleven months after he successful appealed his deportation ruling.

Prosecutors said Popoola met his victim while working as an agency-employed bouncer outside Bar So in Northampton town centre. He took her out for drinks then managed to convince the woman to take him back to her home. It was in her home that he attacked her.

Popoola, 34, was jailed for seven years at a court in Northampton on October 18. He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life. The court told him he would be automatically deported back to Nigeria on his release from prison.

The world's tallest man is now married. 30-year old Sultan Kosen married his 20-year old bride yesterday. At 5'8" Merve Dibo isn't a particularly short lady, but next to her giant groom Sultan Kosen who looms at an enormous 8'3" she looks tiny.

Sultan, also holds the Guinness World Record for the biggest hands and feet. He said he had given up on his quest to find love until he met Merve. Happy married life to him.

US Senator Ted Cruz apologizes for offensive remark about Nigerians

 

On Monday Oct. 21st, US Republican Senator Ted Cruz told a rally that Nigerian email scammers have been hired to run the Obamacare website, a comment that a lot of Nigerians found offensive. After being bombarded with several phone calls from Nigerians in Houston and all across the US, the office of Ted Cruz has issued a statement from the Senator apologizing for what he said.

The full statement reads:

It’s unfortunate that we’re living in a time where just about every joke can be misconstrued to cause offense to someone.

To the good people of Nigeria - a beautiful nation where my wife lived briefly as the child of missionaries - no offense was intended.

I am fully appreciative of the range of mutual economic and security interests that make Nigeria an important friend to the United States.

And even to those few unscrupulous email scammers who were the subject of the joke, I apologize to you for the unfair comparison to the utterly dysfunctional Obamacare website.

Aishwarya Dahiwal, 17, was found hanged in her room in the western Indian city of Parbhani Wednesday night after an argument with her parents over the excessive amount of time she spent on Facebook, as well as the lengthy conversations she would have on her cellphone.
