'I have so many issues...: Miley Cyrus opens up following her controversial performance at the VMAs

Miley's performance at the MTV Video Music Awards prompted mixed reactions from fans
Her controversial performance with Robin Thicke at the MTV Video Music Awards has divided even her most loyal fans and generated a wave of mixed responses from those in attendance.
Indeed, Miley Cyrus prompted stunned gasps when she took to the stage dressed in a latex bra and thong for a performance of Blurred Lines with 36-year-old Thicke at the VMAs in New York.
Miley's performance with Robin Thicke was the major talking point at this year's show
With her tongue frequently hanging out, the former Disney star writhed and gyrated around the married singer while wearing a large foam hand that she repeatedly pointed at his crotch.

‘I don’t have a normal life. I take a hiatus every now and again but I’m not good at that.’

The 20-year-old singer and actress became a household name thanks to the global success of Hannah Montana, and she says the rigorous touring and TV appearances that came with promoting it gave her a strong work ethic.

But while her latest bizarre attempt to disassociate herself from wholesome Hannah Montana remains fresh in the memory, the young singer and actress freely admits she ‘has issues.’

Speaking to the Sunday People, she said: ‘I have so many f***ing issues. I am so f***ed up – everyone does dumb stuff when they are messed up.

She said: ‘All I do is work, so I eat to live and to keep going. People are impressed with me because I can sleep for just 45 minutes – I’m used to it.

‘I suppose I am a workhorse. I love being in the studio and when I take vacation I get so bored. I think of work as something that I have to do.’

That work includes the imminent release of new album Bangerz, the release she hopes will hammer the final nail in Hannah Montana’s coffin.

The LP - her fourth in total – will be the first following her radical image change, but while those records helped turn her into a star she recently admitted she recently admitted to being embarrassed by them.

Speaking to Billboard earlier this year, she said: ‘Right now, when people go to iTunes and listen to my old music, it's so irritating to me because I can't just erase that stuff and start over.’

‘My last record I feel so disconnected from – I was 16 or 17 when I made it. When you're in your 20's, you just don't really know that person anymore.’
