Beckham, Others Storm Nigeria For Cancer Exhibition Game

Nigerian soccer legends will trade tackles with their Word counterparts in December in an exhibition match, a fight against deadly cancer disease. The event which is being organize by the Federal Ministry of Health in collaboration with  Fair-play Sports International Agency, Africa business roundtable and U.S. chamber of commerce will have former world player of the year and French legend, Zinedine Zidane, former England captain, David Beckham, Ghanaian legend, Abedi Pele, Abdullahi Traore and other world soccer legends play against the like of Austin Jay Jay Okocha, mathematical segun Odegbami, super Eagles, Stephen Keshi, Kanu Nwankwo, Taribo West and other Ex-Super Eagles stars for the fight against protracted cancer disease.


Briefing newsmen yesterday ahead of the event, acting head department of hospital services, federal ministry of health, Dr O. J. Amedu said the exhibition match is in furtherance of creating cancer awareness, prevention, research and support for the affected. He said the minister of health, Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu has agreed to serve as patron of the intended exhibition football match and detailing the department of hospital services of the FMOH through the NCCP office to work closely with the organisers in order to achieve a successful outing.
