I’ve solidified my legendary status –Bolt

World sprint doubles champion Usain Bolt believes he has solidified his legendary status and hopes to continue dominating track and field for some time to come. Bolt, who was speaking with reporters after capturing the 200m at the IAAF World Championships of athletics in Moscow, Russia in a time 0f 19.66 seconds, said he always looks forward to doing well.

“For me it’s just to continue winning, continue dominating. I’ve solidified my legend status and the key thing now is to continue winning and that’s my aim. The biggest thing is to go back to the Olympics and do it again and do something no one has ever done before and that’s to win the 100m and 200m three times,” he said.

Bolt who became the first man to win two sprint doubles as well as three 200m titles said he always saved his best for the major championships.

“I always save the best for my championships. I always seem to find it when it comes to championships because I strive better at championships, I look forward to championships because it’s all about gold medals,” he said. He added; “I wasn’t worried about the 100m because I know I was in great shape. My legs weren’t feeling a hundred in the 100M but I’m always confident in every race I run. I’m always focused and I’m always ready to go.”

Bolt said he was unaware of the feats he had accomplished until someone mentioned it to him after the race.

“I learnt that on my way coming in because a lot of people kept reminding me. I’m happy with the victory in the 200m because over the years the 200M has been my pet event. Personally, I do the 100M for the fans but the 200M is always for me.”
