The Kotokuraba District Police Command has arrested a 32-year old car snatcher, Nii Nai who attempted to sell two cars he stole from Accra in Cape Coast.
The suspect who was arrested on Sunday around 3:00 pm, has been remanded into prison custody.
Briefing DAILY GUIDE on Wednesday, the Central Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ransford Moses Ninson said the police had information that the suspect was offering two cars for sale.
DCOP Ninson mentioned the car as Kia Pride with registration number GE 6790-10 and mini Urvan bus with registration GR 5902-T.
He added that the police went to the scene and pretended they wanted to buy the car and arrested him and upon interrogationl, he said he used master keys to the open cars at Madina in Accra and drove them to Cape Coast for sale.
The regional commander emphasized the need for anybody who have their vehicles stolen to contact the regional police command for identification and to assist in the investigations.
DCOP Ninson advised mechanics and car dealers to employ the services of security personnel at night so that when they close, they could look after their shops.
He further warned them to be vigilant of people who come to their hops and walk around since they could be agent of car thieves.
