GOVERNOR Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State, on Saturday, officially hosted the flag of the newly registered All Progressives Congress (APC) at the former Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) state secretariat, assuring that the party would take Nigeria and her citizenry to the promised land.
Addressing the mammoth crowd who besieged the former CPC party secretariat in Lafia, the state capital, Al-Makura said the APC would raise the hope of the country and salvage its people from the misrule that has bedeviled the country from many years since the ruling party came to power.
He pointed out that the birth of APC would bring many goodies through the implementation of both physical and gigantic projects that would have direct impact and benefit on the entire citizenry.
According to him, “the flag is symbolic in many respects. Symbolic because it carries the minds of well meaning Nigerians, patriotic Nigerians, and we are raising the hope and status of this country. We are raising accountability to the highest level and we are taking this country to the promised land.
We are salvaging the people of this country from the misrule that has bedeviled this country for many years since the Peoples Democratic Party came to power.
“I want to congratulate every Nigerian, not only those that belong to CPC, but every Nigerian that the true party that will deliver true democracy has come. I want everybody who wishes this country well to sit down and enjoy true implementation of true democracy through the APC. The flag is true democracy in Nigeria, the hosting of transformation, social justice, accountability, as well as transparency and social transformation.”
