Istanbul (Turkey) - Ghana’s Ebenezer Assifuah won the Golden Shoe award after scoring the highest number of goals (6) at the 2013 FIFA Under-20 World Cup which rounded off in Turkey on Saturday.
Assifuah grabbed the honours, although his country, which won the tournament in 2009, could only manage a third-place finish in Turkey after dispatching Iraq 3-0.
PANA reports that in 2009, Ghana’s Dominic Adiyiah won both the Golden Ball and the Golden Shoe.
Meanwhile, the Golden Ball award for the best player in Turkey 2013 went to Paul Pogba of France, which beat Uruguay 4-1 on penalties to win the title.
