News: Underage Marriage is an Islamic right – Asari Dokuboh

Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Asari Dokubo, the Niger Delta self declared militant and President Jonathan’s freed tribesman has thrown his full weight on the proposal to legalize the marriage of minor being proposed by some Barons in the Nigerian senate.


The controversial militant expressing his opinion on the issues on his facebook page Dokubo said.

“People should learn to respect other people’s sensibilities…We Muslims have the right to marry when we want or give out our daughters at any age we want.It is not your business and the law must respect our right to do so.Anything short of that is an infringement on our rights. We did not ask you to marry ladies of that age or give your daughters out in marriage at that age.Plzzzzzzzz respect our sensibilities.”

The senate of the federal republic has come under fire from outraged Nigerians and the international communities after being convinced by Senator Ahmadu Yerima drop a constitutional amendment outlawing marriage to girls under 18, The former Zanfara state Governor imported and married an Egyptian Minor at an obvious minor age now seeks to popularize his decision arguing that Islam recognize under age marriage.
