News: Ogun PDP wants Daniel sidelined

Ogun  State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, appealed to the national leadership of the party to withdraw all goodwill and patronage that had hitherto accrued to former governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel following alleged reports of his defection to the Labour Party, LP.

In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Waliu Oladipupo, the party said it was aware that some slots were given to him as a result of the dummy he sold to the top hierarchy of the PDP that he was still a member of the party, adding, “recent events have, however, put a lie to that claim.”

It noted that although the Ogun East Senatorial District of the PDP had suspended Daniel for anti-party activities, “with his open association with the LP; first at the launching of the reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and then last Thursday’s meeting in Abuja which he attended with some of his aides, it is now obvious that Otunba Gbenga Daniel and his associates are no longer members of our great party.”
