APPREHENSION has enveloped Ughelli metropolis, Delta State, after a teacher and a cooperative expert, identified as Mr. Aaron Bakpore slumped and died after reading of the death of Senator Pius Ewherido on the pages of a newspaper.
Bakpore, who it was gathered drove to his office at Unify Micro Finance Bank, Ughelli where he is a director on the faithful morning, said: “It is a lie, Ewherido cannot die; not at this early age; not at this time.”
According to a reliable source, the deceased sent his office assistant to buy him a copy of a newspaper, adding that on receiving the copy of the paper, he told the assistant that he needed a rest and does not want to see anybody.
The source who pleaded anonymity, said hours later, one of the directors of the bank, who came looking for him (Bakpore), defied the order and knocked several times without any response.
Speaking further, the source said; “after few minutes, the door was forced opened and behold; Bakpore was found dead on his chair with a copy of the newspaper on his hand.
“Bakpore, who came to the office full of life that morning was taken to the mortuary and his ML Mercedez Benz was driven back to his house in Ekiugbo without him,” the source added.
Describing Bakpore as a cooperative guru and a dedicated a teacher, he said, “his death is a big loss to Universal Multipurpose Cooperative Society, the Unify Micro Finance Bank, his family and the Ughelli community.”
