The State governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and his predecessor, Engr. Segun Oni have commiserated with the Fajuyi family over the death of the wife of late Military Governor of the defunct Western State, Colonel Adekunle Fajuyi, Eunice Ayodele.
According to the only surviving son of the deceased, Mr. Donald Fajuyi, the matriarch of Fajuyi family was said to have passed on at about 6.45 a.m., yesterday, in her sleep at her Okesa family house, Ado Ekiti.
According to him, his mother could have turned 85 on July 27.
Prof. Modupe Adelabu, the state Deputy Governor and wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi were among the early callers at the family house where they condoled with the family and were received by Donald.
The duo described the deceased as a rare mother and prayed that God would give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Donald, who himself is 65, thanked former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for rebuilding the old family house in 2009.
He equally thanked the state governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Senator Femi Ojudu and others for helping the family in various ways, saying he would surely miss his mother.
“We had planned to celebrate her 85th birthday from July 27 to 29. We also wanted to mark the 47th anniversary of her husband’s death which is on July 29.”
