Gossip: Beyonce and Solange snub father's wedding

Beyonce and Solange Knowles have acquierd a step mother after their father remarried.

The 61-year-old married former model Gena Charmaine Avery  last Sunday in Texas. However Beyonce and Solange were visibly absent.

“Unfortunately, Beyonce and Solange had previous engagements which made it impossible for them to attend,” Mathew Knowles said.

Mathew  who was also Beyonce's former manager married  Gina, 48, following an 18 month engagement.

He split from from wife Tina in 2009 after it was revealed he had an affair and a baby boy, Nixon, with actress Alexsandra Wright.

Mathew quit his job as a medical equipment salesman to manage Beyonce's music  group Destiny's Child in 1990.

In 2011, twenty-one years later Beyonce ended her professional relationship, with her dad. She later confessed she needed  her father as opposed to have him as a manager. ‘I needed a break, I needed my dad,’she said. ‘I had to let go.’

Knowles, head of Music World Entertainment, still manages several gospel acts including Grammy winner Le’Andria Johnson.

Mathew and Beyonce’s mother, Tina, divorced in 2011 after 31 years of marriage and two children  Beyonce and her sister, Solange who is also a singer.
