Ewherido’s death, a huge loss to Nigeria

ABUJA- VICE Chairman, Senate Committee on Power, Senator Chris Ngige, ACN, Anambra Central, has described the death of Senator Pius Ewherido, Delta Central as a  huge loss to not only to the people o f Delta State and the Senate,  but to the entire  country, just as he said that he was still at the moment devastated.

In a statement ,Monday, by his Chief of Staff,  Mr. Chibuzo Obiakor,  Senator Chris Ngige said,  ” I am particularly in shock; utterly devastated by the sad news of the passing away of Senator Ewherido, an unmistakable voice in patriotism, a brilliant representative and a principled crusader for the good of the nation.

” I had a close working relationship with late Senator  Ewherido as I do with many of my colleagues at the Senate of the Federal Republic. He inspired me  with his thorough-going disposition to issues and charmed with his in-depth and cognate legislative experience as the former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly for eight years . “He overly  warmed his way with his cosmopolitan trajectory on debates on the floor of the Senate .

He left no one in doubt that he represented his people. He represented Nigeria!  His death is such a huge loss!”

The former Anambra State governor  also regretted the demise of Senator Ewherido at what he called ” a critical stage on the march to nationhood when the patriotism, brilliance and steadfastness of Nigerians of his hue are most needed to beat down cascading national challenges. His contributions will surely be missed .

While  sending his heart felt condolences to his family, the people of Delta Central and the Senate, Dr. Ngige also prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late Senator.”
