Telecommunication giant, MTN, has partnered with neXva to launch NextApps Store to its customers.
MTN Nigeria and neXva Inc. has announced the launch of the MTN Nigeria NextApps Store.
The store powered by neXva, consists of free and premium applications and is available online at http://nextapps.mtnonline.com and initially for Android smartphones.
According to a statement, the store features “one-click” billing that enables MTN’s customers to purchase applications and have the purchase price taken from their pre-paid account or added to their phone bill.
The Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Nigeria, Larry Annetts, said the neXva was chosen to deploy the store because of its ‘robust technology platform’.
“We are very pleased to partner with neXva on this app store initiative,” the statement quoted Amnetts as saying.
“Our choice of neXva to deploy the MTN Nigeria NextApps Store was informed by neXva’s robust technology platform and their internal team that is able to customize and localize the offering of the applications to suit our customers in Nigeria. This, for us is a key success factor for the NextApps Store.”
Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of neXva, Brian J. Friedman, said: “Bringing neXva’s app store platform to MTN Nigeria is a great opportunity for neXva. We are particularly pleased that deploying our app store technology was done with a highly curated selection of content that will, for the first time, bring apps to many of MTN’s customers in Nigeria.”
