Jonathan shuns Obasanjo; meets IBB, Ahmadu Ali over PDP crisis

 

President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday met with former President Ibrahim Babangida and former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party Dr Ahmadu Ali behind closed door for an hour as part of consultations towards the resolution of the crisis in the ruling party.

It was gathered that President Jonathan met jointly with the former military President General Babangida and Dr Ahmadu Ali between 1&2pm at House seven.

It was gathered that the meeting was prelude to a meeting of PDP stakeholders who were billed to meet this night ( Tuesday) to strive to resolve the crisis that has plagued the ruling party.

Though former president Olusegun Obasanjo has initiated a peace move to reconcile the aggrieved members of the party, the peace move appears to have been stalled as the two parties have remained stuck on their positions.

After meeting with former president Babangida and Ahmadu Ali, President Jonathan also met with the governors of Akwa-Ibom, Delta and Benue state.
