The  mother of the triplet whose husband ran away when the news of the birth reached him, last week, has received assistance from her home state, the Ogun State government.

Responding to calls from people, the government has facilitated the opening of a bank account for the woman to enable those who want to assist her and the children do so.

The account was opened with Sterling Bank with the account name: Akapo Taiwo Kehinde Idowu, Account number: 0021422589, Sort code: 232170012.

The state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Elizabeth Sokunbi, had led the government delegates to visit the Afojupa village house of the mother of the babies in Owode-Egba in Obafemi/ Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State with the traditional ruler of Owode, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo.

The state government donated clothing materials, babies’ needs and cash.

Mrs. Bosede Akapo expressed appreciation for the government’s gesture and also thanked the traditional ruler for his support before and after her delivery.

She used the occasion to appeal to her runaway husband, who has not shown up at home since she delivered the babies, to come out of hiding, especially now that government has offered assistance to them.

The 30-year-old mother of five was assisted by a neigbhour on a motorcycle to the hospital on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 when she was pressed with labour and thereafter delivered triplet at Ore-ofe Maternity Home in Owode-Egba town.

The monarch of the community paid the hospital bill. Both the woman and her children are in good condition.
