The Federal Government on Friday announced a donation of N450 million to victims of Boko Haram crises in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States.
Alhaji Bukar Tijjani, the Minister of State for Agriculture, said this during a courtesy visit to Gov. Kashim Shettima of Borno in Maiduguri.
Tijjani pointed out that Borno would get N200 million out of the amount, while Yobe and Adamawa would get N150 and N100 million respectively.
He said that the federal government had also approved a donation of 650 trucks of assorted grains to the victims.
Tijjani added that the gesture was aimed at cushioning the effects of the crises on the people of the states.
He said Borno was given a larger percentage of the donation because of the enormity of the crises in the state.
Tijjani said that the Chairman of the Dangote Business Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, had also offered to donate N1billion to the victims after being contacted by the government.
He pointed out that N500 million of the money would also go to Borno, while the remaining two states would share the balance.
Responding Shettima thanked the federal government for the gesture and promised to ensure that the donation was judiciously utilised.
