Justice Ganiyu Safari of a Lagos High Court, sitting in Ikeja, yesterday, granted bail to Fred Ajudua, who is facing charges over alleged fraud of $1.69 million.
Ajudua, with one Charles Orie, is facing trial for allegedly defrauding two Dutch businessmen – Messrs. Remy Cina and Pierre Vijgen of $1.69 million.
Justice Safari granted Ajudua bail in the sum of N50 million with two sureties in like sum.
Safari, a vacation judge, in his ruling on the application filed by counsel to Ajudua, Mr. Olalekan Ojo, held that his ill-health constituted exceptional circumstance, for the court to grant him bail.
The substantive trial judge, Justice Joseph Oyewole had on June 27 dismissed Ajudua’s bail application and had ordered him to be remanded to Kirikiri Maximum Prison.
