Coronation Street stars have rushed to back 'strong' Michael le Vell and declared 'justice was done' after he was cleared of child rape.

The 48-year-old's acquittal yesterday ended 'two years of hell' for the 'suicidal' actor who went on drinking sessions where he would sink up to 28 pints during three-day binges.

Mr Le Vell, who has played mechanic Kevin Webster for 30 years, is set to sign a new £250,000-a-year deal and could be back on the Street in a dramatic Christmas storyline, ITV sources have said.
