The Gunners have been close to the signing of the Argentinian for some time, with the striker’s brother and agent Nicolas claiming that a deal was nearly done last week.
The wait should be over soon though, as Jorge Higuain has said he has permission from Real Madrid to speak to Arsenal and conclude a deal.
We do not negotiate with any club without permission of the selling club,’ Higuain told TuttoMercato.
‘We have permission [from Madrid] and hopefully we can soon see my son in the Premier League.’
Arsenal completed the signing of young French striker Yaya Sanogo on Monday, the first day of what could be a busy transfer window for the Gunners.
Johan Djourou and Vito Mannone have already been loaned out and sold respectively, while Arsene Wenger is reportedly interest in Wayne Rooney, Marouane Fellaini and Lars Bender
