During the week, it was reported that Rivers State Governor, Hon Rotimi Amaechi, said he would aid music genius, OJB Jezreel, with the $100,000 he needs for his kidney transplant and recuperation.
According to the reports, the Governor would present the money to OJB yesterday. But as at press time, it was yet to be confirmed if the money was given to OJB yesterday by the Governor.
Reports, however, surfaced yesterday that the money was paid into OJB’s account yesterday morning. But when Saturday Mirror got in touch with the Governor’s aides, they couldn’t confirm if the Governor had indeed given OJB the money.
The head of the ‘Save OJB Fundraising Committee,’ Muyiwa Osinuga who is better known as Nomolos, could also not confirm to Saturday Mirror if the money has been given. According to him, he should have known if it’s been given.
When Saturday Mirror spoke to him at about 8pm, he said OJB was receiving dialysis right then and he was trying to confirm from him if indeed the money had been given to him by the Rivers State Governor. The confirmation did not come until this report was filed.
