News: Niger Deltans tasked on oil facilities’ protection

WORRIED by the incessant vandalisation of oil installations in the region, Executive Director of Isoko Environmental Watch Group, Mr Okezi Odugala, weekend, charged the people of the Niger Delta, particularly Deltans to assist in keeping vigil over oil facilities, especially facilities of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Limited, NPDC, in the region.

Odugala, who spoke on the incessant vandalization of oil facilities in the region, said it was the responsibility of all stakeholders to protect the oil facilities.

Appealing to the people to cooperate with the Managing Director of NPDC, Engr Iyowuna Brigg and his team in the interest of sustainable development of the region, he said that the oil rich region was still yearning for infrastructural and human development.

He commended Brigg for promoting local content development with a robust community relations and environmental sustainability in the area of NPDC operations.
